This Sunday marks World Cancer Day
Valencia CF are joining the 'All Against Cancer' campaign as part of World Cancer Day, which takes place this Sunday, 4 February, and the team will be wearing 'bracelets of Hope' at the match against UD Almeria, this Saturday at 2 pm at Mestalla.
The campaign is the result of the collaboration between LaLiga and the Spanish Association Against Cancer in the context of World Cancer Day. The players will wear a green ribbon in support of the fight against the disease, showing football's commitment to this cause.
A commitment that the Club will reinforce by inviting representatives of the Heads of Oncology at Valencian hospitals (Hospital Clínico, Hospital General, La Fe and IMED) and leaders of the Asociación Española contra el Cáncer-Comunitat Valenciana( Spanish Association AgainstCancer), an organisation with which Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation have collaborated every season on their Charitable Day, to attend the Valencia CF-UD Almería match.
On the occasion of World Cancer Day, 4 February, players from various leagues such as the EA Sports League, the Hypermotion League, the Endesa League and the Plenitude Asobal League will join the 'Everyone Against Cancer' initiative, which aims to raise the survival rate to 70% by 2030.
The 'Bracelets of Hope' campaign aims to change the symbol of mourning for that of hope and survival. The aim is to positivise one of the symbols that most often accompanies the disease. The green ribbon will become a symbol of the lives that will be saved if the 70% survival rate, which is the goal of the initiative, is achieved.
